Gov Buni swears-in 20 news commissioners
Gov Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state on Saturday sworn in 20 Commissioners to assist him in the running of the affairs of the state in different capacities.
He said the commissioners had been carefully selected to serve the people of the state under his administration.
He congratulated the new commissioners and reminded them of the tasks ahead of them.
“l am sure you are conscious of the task that awaits you, as we shall be taking critical decisions for and on behalf of our people, with a sense of commitment.
“In order to implement our people-oriented policies and programmes to accelerate the development of our dear state upon which we secured the people’s mandate for a second term of office, at the 2023 Governorship Election,” he said.
Buni advised them to be leading figures in loyalty, diligence, good governance, sacrifice and productive leadership.
Some of the sworn-in commissioners include Alhaji Abdullahi Bego Ministry of Home Affairs information and Culture, Mohammed Garba Ministry of Budget and Planning, Engr Usman Ahmed Ministry of Water Resources among others.
Meanwhile, Buni has mourned the death of Alhaji Musa Lawan, the Madakin Tikau, who passed away on Saturday in Tikau town, Nangere local government.
The governor described Lawan as “an elder statesman, a grassroots politician and an advocate of politics without bitterness”
He prayers Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatur Firdaus.
