
Stakeholders Strategize on Demographic Dividends Rollout in Yobe
Stakeholders strategized on the effective rollout of demographic dividends, particularly in the health sector on Tuesday converged in Damaturu.
The meeting, organized by the State Ministry of Health and Human Services in collaboration with the National Population Commission (NPoPC) supported by the Lafiya UK Programme, focused on preparing for an upcoming workshop scheduled for Dec. 13-16 in Dutse, Jigawa State.
The workshop aims to delve into the intricacies of demographic dividends and their broader implications for the state.
Key participants included representatives from NPoPC, various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), the Directorate of Planning, Research, and Statistics (DPRS), the Yobe State House of Assembly, the Network of Yobe State Civil Society Organizations, and the media.
Zanna Omar, the State Team Lead for the UK Lafiya Programme, stressed the significance of youth involvement in the demographic dividends rollout, emphasizing it as a crucial factor for the initiative’s success.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaborative efforts among stakeholders to achieve impactful and sustainable outcomes for Yobe State.
