NUC commences accreditation of undergraduate courses at ASCOE Azare

The National University Commission (NUC) has begun a five-day accreditation exercise for undergraduate courses at Aminu Saleh College of Education Azare, (ASCOE) Azare, Bauchi State.

This is contained in a statement signed by Malam Suleiman Shehu, Assistant Deputy Registrar Information and Linkages of college made available to newsmen on Monday in Bauchi

The college, affiliated with the University of Maiduguri, offers programs in B.A. Ed. Arabic, B. Sc. Ed. Biology, B. Sc. Ed. Business Education, and (link unavailable) Ed. Economics.

Prof. Attahiru Muhammad Dauda, leading the NUC team, assured the college leadership of a bias-free evaluation, focusing on quality assurance, facility assessment, and academic program appraisal.

“We are here to assess the college’s facilities, academic programs, and teaching methods to ensure they meet the NUC’s standards,” he said.

He said the NUC’s evaluation will focus on the college’s ability to provide quality education, its facilities, and its teaching staff.

The Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Maiduguri, represented by Prof. Joseph Akan, praised the college’s efforts, describing it as one of the best affiliated institutions.

urged the NUC team to ensure a thorough and impartial evaluation.

The Provost, Professor Asabe Sadiya Muhammad, emphasised the college’s commitment to maintaining high standards, providing quality education, training, and research.

“We have worked hard to ensure that our programs meet the NUC’s requirements, and we are confident that we will receive a positive assessment,” she said.

The Provost stressed that the accreditation exercise is a significant milestone for the college, and a successful outcome will boost its reputation and credibility.
