
NSCDC arrest 2 over sexual assault of 8 year old girl in Bauchi

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Bauchi State Command has arrested two men over the alleged sexual molestation of an eight-year-old girl in Azare, Katagum Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson of the command ASCII Saminu Yusuf confirmed the incident to newsmen on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He said that the suspects confessed to the crime and have been arraigned to face the full weight of the law.
According to him, the incident occurred on July 13, 2025, at Unguwan Kaban, Azare, around 10:00 a.m. Operatives of the Katagum Division apprehended the suspects at the scene of the crime.
A preliminary investigation revealed bloodstains on the bedsheet in the room where the assault allegedly took place.
“A N100 note given to the victim by her mother was also recovered at the scene.
“An eyewitness reportedly saw one of the suspects attempting to wash bloodstains from his trousers,” Yusuf said
The Spokesperson said the victim was immediately taken to the Federal University of Health Sciences (FUHSA) Teaching Hospital in Azare for medical care and further examination.
Yusuf reaffirmed the Command commitment to protecting vulnerable members of society and ensuring that perpetrators of such heinous crimes are brought to justice.
