Delegates from Yobe State have pledged responsible online engagement following their induction at a national dialogue on social media, unity and national security.

The delegates participated in the 5th National Induction and Dialogue Session organised by the National Institute for Social Media Analysts, held from Nov. 12 to Nov. 13 in Abuja.

The programme drew participants nationwide, including media practitioners, government communicators, security experts and digital analysts.

Discussions examined the impact of social media on governance, public perception and national security, with focus on addressing misinformation, hate speech and ethnic misrepresentation.

Participants received training on responsible online engagement, strategic digital communication and peace-oriented messaging to promote national cohesion.

At the end of the session, Yobe delegates were formally inducted as members of the National Institute for Social Media Analysts.

The delegates expressed gratitude to Gov. Mai Mala Buni for providing opportunities that enhance youth capacity, exposure and professional development.

They reaffirmed commitment to supporting responsible digital engagement, good governance and peaceful coexistence in Yobe State.

The induction is expected to strengthen the state’s capacity to counter misinformation and promote unity through professional digital communication.
