The All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilisation has pledged to address internal disputes and avert emerging threats to party unity.

The committee, chaired by Yobe Governor Mai Mala Buni, made the pledge on Monday during its inaugural meeting convened to outline strategies for resolving pending conflicts within the party.

Members of the committee include governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Hyacinth Alia of Benue, Uba Sani of Kaduna and Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers.

Others are governors Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Bassey Otu of Cross River, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta.

Additional members include Sen. Adamu Aliero, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, and former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello.

Also on the committee are the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Masari, while Muiz Banire (SAN) serves as secretary.

At the committee’s inauguration in December, Buni said it would prioritise strategic engagement and wide consultations to deliver enduring solutions acceptable to both old and new party members.

He said the approach would ensure aggrieved members felt a sense of belonging and inclusion, thereby restoring confidence and strengthening internal cohesion.

Buni added that the committee would also adopt proactive measures to identify and neutralise potential threats before they escalated into major crises.

He urged members to subordinate personal interests and sentiments to the collective interest of the party and the mandate of the committee.

The meeting, according to party sources, marked the beginning of structured interventions aimed at stabilising the APC and consolidating unity ahead of future political engagements.
