The All Progressives Congress (APC) Conflict Resolution, Strategy and Mobilisation Committee has identified priority areas for reconciling differences to strengthen party cohesion ahead of key engagements.

The Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, said this in a statement after the committee’s meeting at the Yobe Government Lodge, Abuja.

Mohammed said the committee underscored the urgency of resolving internal conflicts as political activities intensify ahead of the party’s national convention and other programmes.

According to the statement, the committee emphasised that reconciliation would give all stakeholders and party members a sense of belonging ahead of forthcoming political contests.

The committee also noted the need to seal lingering differences to enable the party approach its programmes and national elections with a united front.

Mohammed said unity and cohesion remained paramount on the committee’s agenda, adding that states and political actors whose disputes could threaten the party had been identified for quick intervention.

He said the committee was chaired by Gov. Buni, with Governors Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa) and Bassey Otu (Cross River) as members.
