The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe has received over 270 decampees and urged them to formalise their membership without delay.

The State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Muhammed Gadaka, disclosed this on Friday in Potiskum while receiving the new members.

Gadaka said the figure covered only those physically present, adding that more names would be submitted to the party headquarters through appropriate channels.

He called on the decampees to obtain their membership cards as soon as possible, noting that those who comply promptly could be considered for appointments as special assistants.

The chairman assured the new members of equal treatment with existing party members, urging them to hasten their registration process.

He also directed that all political appointees, from the Head of Service to commissioners and others, must obtain party membership cards within two weeks or risk losing their positions.

Gadaka said the party would no longer tolerate individuals drawing benefits under its platform without formal membership.

He commended the state governor for his generosity and support to the people of the state.

The event was attended by party stakeholders from across the state.

The decampees included 25 from Roraba, 23 from Sabon Gari Jigawa, 38 from Texaco, 40 from Dorawa, 22 from Kabul, 25 from Kafala, 26 from Old Kwata and 34 from Rasha, among others.
