By Ahmed Ahmed
The North East Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Malam Isa Yuguda, has appointed Mr Salisu Ahmad Barau as Special Adviser on Media and Communication.
Yuguda, a former Governor of Bauchi State, announced the appointment in a letter made available to newsmen, saying it takes immediate effect.
According to him, Barau’s responsibilities will include showcasing the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, particularly its efforts to revive the nation’s economy inherited by the administration.
He said the Special Adviser would also respond to what he described as “mischievous comments and misleading narratives” by detractors of the administration.
Yuguda added that Barau would advise his office on media-related events and activities requiring responses, particularly those concerning the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Coordinator said the appointment was based on Barau’s track record, experience, commitment and loyalty to him since he assumed office as Bauchi State governor in 2007.
He urged the new appointee to bring his experience and commitment to bear on the assignment to ensure effective communication of the Renewed Hope Initiative’s programmes and achievements.
Yuguda expressed confidence that the appointment would contribute to efforts to secure victory for President Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
He congratulated Barau and wished him success in his new assignment.
