2027: Loaders, Nangere stakeholders pledge support for Wali
The Yobe State chapter of the Loaders Association and critical stakeholders from Nangere Local Government Area have pledged massive support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The two groups made the pledge during separate solidarity visits to Wali at his residence in Damaturu, where they expressed confidence in his leadership experience and promised to mobilise votes for the APC.
More than 200 members of the Loaders Association, led by its State Chairman, Malam Sani Alhassan, assured Wali of 100 per cent support, saying the association had secured the commitment of its members across the state’s 17 local government areas.
Alhassan said the association endorsed Wali because of his wealth of experience in the civil service and understanding of various sectors of government.
He recalled that Wali demonstrated commitment to supporting associations across the state during his tenure as Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
He said the association had more than 1,500 members in Nguru alone, adding that its members were determined to contribute to the APC’s electoral success.

Similarly, the Nangere delegation, led by former Deputy Governor of Yobe, Alhaji Aliyu Saleh Bagare, Madakin Tikau, described Wali as a tested and trusted administrator capable of sustaining the state’s development.
Bagare recalled that Wali served as SSG for 13 years under the administrations of former Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam and the incumbent, Mai Mala Buni, noting that he played significant roles in their achievements.
He said the people of Nangere had endorsed Wali and his running mate, Barr. Saleh Samanja, as their preferred candidates for the 2027 governorship election.
Bagare assured that Nangere would deliver massive votes for the APC across all elective positions, from the presidency to the State House of Assembly.
The delegation included former APC State Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Chillariye; member representing Nangere Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hajiya Fatima Talba; Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu; Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umaru Wakili Duddaye; members of the State House of Assembly and Chairman of Nangere Local Government Council, among other stakeholders.
Responding, Wali thanked both groups for their solidarity and confidence in his candidature, describing loaders as important contributors to society whose services were indispensable to the public and private sectors.
He assured the association that its interests would receive attention under his proposed administration through sustained support and improved welfare initiatives.
Wali particularly emphasised the need to cater for ageing members who could no longer engage in physically demanding loading activities but could contribute through supervisory and leadership roles.
He also assured the Nangere stakeholders of his commitment to inclusive leadership, promising to carry all sections of society along in the governance and development of the state if elected.
The APC candidate urged both groups to intensify grassroots mobilisation in support of President Bola Tinubu, the party’s senatorial and House of Representatives candidates, the governorship ticket and candidates contesting seats in the State House of Assembly.
He said continued APC leadership at the federal and state levels would provide further opportunities for development in Yobe and Nigeria.
The visits were attended by APC State Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka; party leader, Alhaji Mohammed Wali Shettima; and Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Ustaz Babagana Malam Kyari, among other party stalwarts.
