The Governing Council of the Federal University Gashua (FUGA), Yobe, has approved the appointment of Dr Abubakar Mamuda, as the new Registrar of the university.
The Council also appointed other principal officers to fill the vacancies in the school.
This is contained in a statement by Malam Adamu Saleh, Head of Information and Protocol Unit of the university on Thursday in Damaturu.
Those appointed include Muhammad Ali, Bursar and Dr Adam Saleh as Librarian while Mr Ahmed Janga, Director, Works and Physical planning.
The statement said that all the appointments would take effect from the date the appointees assumed duties.
According to Saleh, each of the appointees will serve for one-term tenure of five years.
The statement quoted the Acting Registrar of the Institution, Malam Juji, as saying that the appointments followed consideration of the report and recommendations of the institution’s Joint Council/Senate Selection Board at the Council’s Extra-Ordinary Meeting held on Thursday Nov. 11, 2021.
“The Council’s approval of the appointments was in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Chapter 9 (1) of the University Establishment Act, 2020.”
