APC flaggs off presidential campaign in Yobe
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its presidential campaign on Tuesday in Damaturu, Yobe Capital.
Speaking at the occasion, President Muhammadu Buhari canvased support for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections.
“I am here in Yobe to assured you that the party leadership had unanimously endorsed Bola Tinubu to be the party’s flagg bearer in forthcoming coming general election because of his qualities.”
He commanded Yobe people for their resilience and enjoined Nigerians to be trust worthy in all their dealings.
Buhari also encouraged Nigerians to continue to venture into agricultural activities for food security and self reliance.
In his remarks, Senator Ahmed Lawan said North-East had suffered devastating effects of Boko Haram insurgency before Buhari emerged as president of Nigeria.
Lawan, who described Buhari’s victory in 2015 as salvation moment for the country, called on Nigerian to vote for the APC at all levels.
He said president Buhari would continue to be a reference point for good leadership.
“We will not allow you to rest after your tenure ended. We will continue to consult you where ever you might be fatherly guidance.”, he said.
Speaking, Gov Mai Mala Buni of Yobe said poverty and illiteracy were the root cause of Boko Haram in the North-East region.
He commended president Buhari’s good policies, programmes and various forms of interventions controlled the menace in Yobe and the entire region.
He also commended the state’s former governors for their efforts to development of the state.
Buni assured that Yobe people would vote APC’s presidential candidate and all other flagg bearers of the party in the forthcoming elections.
