Yobe tailors‘ association dissolves excos, form c’tee for election
Yobe State Tailoring Association of Nigeria, Damaturu Chapter has announced the dissolution of its executive members under the caretaker chairmanship of Ahmad Maikwano.
This announcement is contained in a resolution signed by Ishaku Adamu, the Secretary of the 7-man new committee on Saturday in Damaturu.
The resolution reads as follows:
Sequel to the meeting held on 15th March, 2023 of all chairmen and secretaries of the 17 local government areas of Yobe State Tailoring Association in Damaturu, the state capital, at the office of Yobe State Organized Trade Union Association, have unanimously resolved and signed for the dissolution of the state executive council members under the caretaker chairman Ahmad Alhaji Madu Maikwano based on the following:
The leadership of the state executive council has been under caretakers for the period of nine years against the Associations constitution.
The Association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman within the period accrued debt the sum of N4.6 million without due consultation, proper record and procedure of financial regulation of the association.
The association has been run by the dissolved caretaker chairman as sole administrator.
The association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman within the period of his leadership has never conducted executive meeting with the entire local government chairmen as stipulated in the association constitution that the state council should conduct quarterly meeting with the local government chairmen.
The association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman within the period of his leadership has never organized a congress meeting with its members
The association under the leadership of the dissolved caretaker state chairman diverted 89 sewing machines out of the 150 given to the association by Yobe state government as empowerment under the Yobe State Ministry of Wealth Creation, only 61 were distributed the members across the 17 LGAs.
Copies of the association’s Constitution are sold to local government chapters against the decision that the constitution of the Association be distributed free of charge.
For the period of the 9 years under the dissolved caretaker chairman there is no any financial document or report for the association found or presented at any forum.
The 17 local government chairmen of the Association had a meeting on 2/2/2023 and set up a committee under the leadership of Damaturu Tailoring Association chapter and conducted a consultation tour in the 17 LGAS.
