Yobe Hisbah arrests 14 for alleged prostitution, drugs deals

Damaturu, March 12, 2024 (NAN) The Yobe Hisbah command has arrested 14 suspects for alleged prostitution and illicit drugs business.
Alhaji Yusuf Yusuf, the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Religious Affairs, said this when he addressed newsmen on Tuesday in Damaturu.
Yusuf said that the suspects were made up of nine women and five men adding that they were arrested after an operation within Damaturu, including Gidan Ajayi, Zango, Bus Stop, and others.
He added that some of the suspects would be handed over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution, while others would be counseled and rehabilitated.
‘’Others will be subjected to religious counseling from Ulamas, Islamic scholars, with the hope of rehabilitation,’’ he said.(NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
