NUJ Yobe State Council Chairman Laments Rain Damage to Secretariat
The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Yobe State Council, Comrade Rajab Isma’il Muhammed, has expressed concern over the damage caused to the council’s secretariat by recent heavy rainfall.
During a Congress meeting in Damaturu, he highlighted the significant impact of the rain on the perimeter fencing, roofing, and other parts of the building.
Muhammed welcomed members to the congress and commended their dedication for attending despite the economic challenges and busy schedules.
He emphasized the importance of paying professional fees, noting that only paid-up members would be eligible to benefit from the council’s programs, privileges and services.
The chairman announced that the national secretariat had allocated 12 delegate slots and five observer positions to Yobe State for an upcoming National Delegate Conference, directing each chapel to nominate one member as a delegate.
He distributed verification forms to chapels, instructing members to fill and submit them within two weeks, warning that failure to do so would risk loss of membership.
The chairman stressed the importance of completing the verification process to maintain active membership status.
