The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration on voter sensitisation and civic engagement ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

The commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Yobe State Director of NOA, Hajiya Zuwaira Ali, and officials of the agency to the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of INEC in Damaturu.

Ali commended INEC for providing an enabling environment for the continuous registration and modification of voters’ records across the country.

She said the NOA would intensify public enlightenment campaigns in the 17 local government areas of Yobe on the importance of obtaining, validating and updating Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The state director urged eligible residents to visit the nearest INEC registration centres to validate or modify their voter registration before the July 10 deadline.

Responding, the Yobe REC, Alhaji Abubakar Ma’aji, described the visit as timely, saying preparations for the 2027 General Elections required closer collaboration between INEC and strategic partners.

Ma’aji said NOA’s communication platforms, including roadshows, phone-in programmes, theatre for peace, door-to-door campaigns, media engagements and community outreach, would strengthen voter education and public awareness across the state.

He assured the delegation that NOA would be fully involved in future INEC engagements to support the successful conduct of the 2027 General Elections in Yobe.
