PDP chieftain lauds Gov Buni’s agricultural policies
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amb. Umar Damagum, has commended Gov Mai Mala Buni’s agricultural policies, saying they have provided a platform for farmers to thrive.
He made the comment on Tuesday in Damaturu while condoling with the governor over recent floods and insurgency attacks in the state.
Damagum praised Buni’s non-partisan leadership style, which according to him benefited the people of Yobe.
However, Damagum emphasised the importance of addressing the state’s security situation, advising the governor to engage frequently with community leaders to ensure people can move freely and farmers can work without fear.
“We may have political differences, but we are all human beings. At times of grief and difficulty, we must put aside our differences and come together,” Damagum said.
Governor Buni expressed gratitude to Damagum and his delegation for their visit.
“We are highly honoured to receive you and appreciate your condolences over the unfortunate events in Mafa village and the floods affecting our communities.
Our Correspondent reports that over 5,300 farmers across the 178 wards in the 17 LGAs of the state had benefited from Buni’s empowerment programme to improve agricultural productivity, ensure food sufficiency and security.
