The District Head of Kafin Madaki, Alhaji Baba Mohammed Gidado, has urged the government to upgrade the Sumu Wildlife Park in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Gidado made the call on Tuesday when members of the Correspondents’ Chapel Bauchi State chapter paid a courtesy visit to his palace in Ganjuwa.

He said the upgrade is expected to boost tourism attraction and economic viability for the state.

Gidado emphasized that upgrading the park would not only enhance tourism but also generate revenue for the state.

He proposed the construction of a road leading to the park, which would increase Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and contribute to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

He said the government’s support in upgrading the park and constructing a road leading to it would unlock the park’s full potential and contribute to the state’s economic development.

Our Correspondent reports that Sumu Wildlife Park, located in Ganjuwa Local Government Area, has the potential to become one of Nigeria’s finest tourist attractions.

The park, which received over 279 wildlife species from Namibia in 2006, is home to various animals, including giraffes, zebras, and impalas.

Earlier, The Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Ahmed Mohammed, said their visit aimed to seek the District Head’s blessings and support.

He added that members of the chapel had visited the Sumu Wildlife Park to assess its potential and explore ways to advocate for government intervention to transform the park into a thriving tourism hub.
