ADC Affirms Halliru Jika as Sole Governorship Candidate for Bauchi 2027 Polls

Senator Halliru Dauda Jika has emerged as the sole governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 general elections following the party’s affirmation exercise conducted on Friday in Bauchi.
The exercise, monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), also produced candidates for the Senate, House of Representatives and Bauchi State House of Assembly seats.
Speaking during the exercise, Chairman of the ADC Electoral Committee for the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly primaries, retired General Ishaya Bauka, said the committee was established to ensure transparency and due process in the selection of candidates.
Bauka explained that Senator Jika and the party’s three senatorial candidates emerged unopposed and were subsequently affirmed by party stakeholders and delegates.
In his acceptance speech, Jika expressed gratitude to party leaders and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them of his commitment to securing victory for the ADC in the 2027 elections.
He declared that the party was determined to take over governance in Bauchi State, stressing that ADC members and supporters were united behind a common goal.
“By the grace of God, Bauchi State will become an ADC-controlled state in 2027,” he said.
Jika added that the strength and unity within the party placed the ADC in a strong position ahead of the polls.
The Bauchi State Chairman of the ADC, Alhaji Shu’aibu Abdullahi Dankama, also expressed optimism that the party would achieve major electoral success in 2027.
According to him, the party presented experienced and credible candidates capable of delivering good leadership and strengthening the ADC’s chances at the polls.
Among those affirmed were Hon. Garba Dahiru Salanke for Bauchi South Senatorial District, Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi for Bauchi Central Senatorial District, and Senator Nazif Gamawa for Bauchi North Senatorial District.
The party also affirmed candidates for House of Representatives and State Assembly seats across the state ahead of the elections.
