The Acting Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Dr Mohammed Goje, on Tuesday made his debut at the Forum of Secretaries to the State Governments (SSGs) of Northern Nigeria, joining his counterparts from the 19 Northern states in charting the agenda for the forthcoming meeting of the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NNGF).
The meeting, held at the General Hassan Usman Katsina Conference Hall in Kaduna, focused on reviewing, harmonising and adopting key policy proposals, memoranda and recommendations for consideration by the Northern States Governors.
The forum was chaired by the Chairman of the Forum and Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, while the Director-General of the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mr Ezekiel Gomos, called the meeting to order.
Goje’s participation marked his first official engagement with the regional body since his appointment as Acting Secretary to the Yobe State Government.
Members of the forum formally welcomed him and congratulated him on his appointment, expressing confidence in his contributions to the collective efforts aimed at strengthening governance and inter-state collaboration across Northern Nigeria.
The meeting also finalised documents and recommendations for presentation to the governors at the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum meeting scheduled for Wednesday.
Our Correspondent reports that the Forum of Secretaries to the State Governments serves as the administrative and policy coordination platform for the Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum, facilitating the harmonisation of issues before they are presented to governors for consideration and decision.
