Operatives of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have tracked 29 constituency projects valued at N2,062,155,613.98 across Bauchi State.

The exercise is part of the commission’s efforts to ensure that constituency projects funded through government appropriations are executed in accordance with their approved Bills of Quantities (BoQs), thereby promoting accountability and value for money.

The tracking exercise, which commenced on Aug. 17, 2026, is being conducted by the Constituency Projects Tracking Group (CPTG), comprising officials from the commission’s headquarters in Abuja and its Bauchi office.

Speaking on the exercise, the Team Leader, Assistant Chief Superintendent of the ICPC, Abdullahi Mohammed Tanko, said the commission was committed to tracking the execution, implementation and performance of government-funded constituency projects across the country.

Tanko said the Chairman of the commission, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, had directed Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as members of the National Assembly and the executive, to ensure that public funds allocated to government and constituency projects were reflected in actual projects on the ground.

He explained that the exercise was aimed at curbing the diversion of contract funds, preventing project abandonment and ensuring that Nigerians derived value from public expenditure.

According to him, the commission is also leveraging technology, including digital tracking and forensic tools, as well as partnerships with relevant stakeholders, to monitor and audit public infrastructure projects nationwide.

Tanko urged affected MDAs and members of the National Assembly whose projects had been abandoned to mobilise their contractors back to site and ensure their completion.

He said the commission would continue to deploy technology and other monitoring mechanisms to track constituency projects and would sanction individuals found culpable of violating relevant laws and regulations.
