Northern Governors wives to strengthen partnership for women, children welfare

The Northern Governors’ Spouses’ Forum (NGSF) has resolved to strengthen partnership with development partners for the welfare of women and children in the region.

The forum disclosed this in a communique at the end of their 2nd Tri-Annual Meeting in Yola chaired by the Wife of Gombe state governor, Hajiya Asma’u Inuwa Yahaya.

She said the meeting brought together spouses of Northern Governors to review the Forum’s activities, assess progress made, deliberate on key issues affecting the region, and chart a clear course for future programmes and initiatives.

“Following extensive and constructive deliberations, members carefully considered the various matters presented before the Forum and reached a number of resolutions aimed at strengthening the Forum’s activities, enhancing collaboration among members.

“and advancing initiatives focused on the wellbeing and empowerment of women, children and vulnerable members of society”, she said.

She said, after robust deliberations, “the forum resolved to strengthen and expand its collaboration with development partners, particularly in areas relating to the welfare, empowerment, protection and development of women and children across Northern Nigeria.

“Continuation of ongoing projects, continue its ongoing projects and initiatives, with a commitment to ensuring their effective implementation, completion and long-term impact on the communities they serve”.

According to her, the forum resolved that its next meeting would be hosted by North Central, with the specific date and venue to be communicated to members accordingly.
