Galadima Condoles Lamido of Adamawa Over Bamanga Tukur’s Death, Commends Conferment of Tafida Title on Son

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate for Adamawa State, Alhaji Ahmed Galadima Aminu has paid a condolence visit to the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Mustapha, over the recent passing of the elder statesman and illustrious son of Adamawa, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.

Galadima, who was accompanied by his running mate, Hon. Adamu Kamale, State chairman and other Executive members of the APC as well as senior Campaign team officials visited the Lamido at his palace in Yola, where he conveyed heartfelt condolences.

The APC Governorship Candidate described the death of Bamanga Tukur as a significant loss to Adamawa State and Nigeria, noting that the deceased lived a long and accomplished life dedicated to public service, leadership and the advancement of humanity.

Bamanga Tukur, a former Governor of the defunct Gongola State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP among other national and international responsibilities, was also the holder of the prestigious traditional title of Tafidan Adamawa.

“His distinguished public career spanned governance, administration, business and national service”, he said.

He urged the Lamido and members of the Tukur family to take solace in the fact that the late elder statesman left behind a legacy of service and contribution that would continue to be remembered by generations.

Galadima also commended the Lamido of Adamawa and the Adamawa Emirate Council for the decision to confer the prestigious title of Tafida Adamawa on Hon. Awwal D. Tukur, the first son of the late Bamanga Tukur and Secretary to the Adamawa State Government.

Galadima described the conferment as a befitting honour to the Tukur family and a symbolic gesture that connects the legacy of the late elder statesman with a new generation of responsibility and service.

He said the decision also demonstrates the wisdom and foresight of the traditional institution in preserving the history, dignity and continuity of the Adamawa Emirate, while recognising families and individuals who have contributed meaningfully to the development of the state.

Galadima Adamawa Alhaji Mustapha Aminu who responded on behalf of the monarch appreciated the APC Governorship candidate and his delegation for the sympathy visit which he described as well thought out.

He prayed Allah to reward him abundantly saying the visit is a befitting honour and respect to the lamido and the entire Emirate council which will not be forgotten.

The visit ended with prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Bamanga Tukur, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

Prayers were also offered for the continued guidance, protection and good health of the Lamido of Adamawa, as well as for enduring peace, unity, stability and prosperity in Adamawa State and Nigeria.
