Yobe Govt awards contracts of 103 roads

Yobe state government under the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the award of contracts for the construction of a total of 103 kilometres of roads at a total cost of N40 million across the state
The state Commissioner for Works, Engr Umar Wakil disclosed this on Thursday while briefing journals in Damaturu, the state capital.
Out of these numbers, the commissioner pointed out that contract has been awarded and signed for the construction of 43 kilometres roads starting from Bukarti to Toshia in Yunusari local government area and another form Gashua to Dumburi to Masaba town.
He revealed that another contract would be awarded and signed soon for the construction of another 25.3 kilometers roads in the urban areas of the state to ensure equal distribution of roads in the three senatorial zones of the states.
Other projects would include the reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads destroyed by floods during the rainy season.
He stressed that the administration of governor Mai Mama Buni is doing everything in spite of the meagre resources at his disposal to improve the living standards of the citizens both socially and economically.
