Yobe govt. bans utilisation of Govt owned vehicles for personal use
Gov MaiMala Buni of Yobe State, has barned the use of government owned vehicles and other facilities for personal use.
Buni gave the warning at the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed nine Permanent Secretaries on Tuesday in Damaturu.
The Governor said that the utilisation of government vehicles and facilities for personal is banned henceforth.
According to him, “All government vehicles should be strictly used for government assignments.
“The Secretary to the State Government, the Head of Service and the Permanent Secretaries, are hereby directed to ensure compliance.” Buni ordered.
He also reiterated his administration’s commitment to due process and transparency, in governing the state.
“All communications and movement of files must follow the normal procedure and channels for proper documentation.
“On no account should government files be released to unauthorised persons.” The Governor stressed.
He however directed the Secretary to the State Government to note and ensure compliance to the order.
Furthermore, he charged the Office of the Head of Service and the Permanent Secretaries, to promote schedules of responsibilities to workers, to justify their employment and resources expended on them.
This according to him, will give workers a sense of belonging and involvement.
He ordered for to check for cases of idleness and absenteeism to promote vibrancy and productivity in the civil service.”
Meanwhile, Gov. Buni congratulated the new Permanent Secretaries for attaining the climax career in civil service.
He said their ascension to office was purely based on merit, competence and capacity.
He tasked them on value addition to the civil service, from their wealth of experience to achieve its set goals.
