Bauchi Set to Establish Ministry of Livestock Development

In a bid to boost the state’s economy, the Bauchi State Government has announced plans to establish a Ministry of Livestock Development.
This move aims to harness the state’s abandoned resources in the livestock sector, ultimately improving food security and creating job opportunities.
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s stated this when the Presidential Livestock Reform Implementation Committee paid him a curtsey call on Wednesday in Bauchi
He pledged to commit to reforming the livestock sector, emphasizing the state’s peaceful architecture and large forest as key factors in achieving this goal.
The governor also promised to provide necessary resources to maximize investment in the federal government’s initiative in Sullubawa Community.
According to Governor Mohammed, “We are committed to improving the livestock sector in Bauchi State.
We believe that this sector has the potential to boost our state’s economy and improve the lives of our citizens.”
To achieve these objectives, a committee will be set up to design a template for the state government on the best way to reform the livestock sector. This move is expected to boost economic development in the region.
Prof. Attahiru Jega, co-chair of the Presidential Livestock Reform Implementation Committee, noted that the livestock sector has tremendous potential to contribute to the national economy.
