Army, MNJTF Donate Educational Materials to Schools in Monguno

The Nigerian Army Headquarters Sector 3 of Operation HADIN KAI and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have donated educational materials to selected schools in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno.
Capt. Mohammed Goni, Acting Military Information Officer, Operation HADIN KAI, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, saying the donation was made on Saturday, Aug. 8.
Goni said the initiative was part of ongoing civil-military cooperation activities aimed at supporting education and strengthening relations between security forces and host communities.
He said the materials were donated to schools identified within the local government for onward distribution to pupils.
Representing the Sector Commander, Brig.-Gen. Shehu Ahmed, Brig.-Gen. Ikechukwu Ogundele said education remained vital to community recovery, sustainable development and resilience.
“Education remains fundamental to sustainable development and community resilience,” Ogundele said.
He added that community interventions would help build trust and cooperation between residents and security forces.
Receiving the materials, Babagana Modu Kur, representing the Monguno Local Government Authority, thanked the military for the gesture.
Kur assured that the materials would be distributed fairly among the selected schools to ensure maximum benefit.
He also acknowledged the military’s broader efforts toward restoring peace and normalcy in communities affected by years of insurgency.
The donation is part of efforts by the military and its partners to support the recovery of communities affected by insecurity in the North-East.
The donation complements ongoing military operations with non-kinetic activities aimed at addressing community needs within Sector 3’s area of responsibility.
