KACRAN condemns killing of policemen, caution against circulating graphic video
The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) on Wednesday condemned the recent gruesome murder of two policemen by unidentified gunmen in Anambra.
Alhaji khaliel Bello, National President of the Association made this known in a statement in Damaturu.
He said the barbaric killing videotaped and circulated by the gunmen was more worrisome when “ they said they killed the policeman because they are Fulani”.
“ This act stands condemnable by every well-meaning Nigerian because it is a direct attack on the Nigerian State.
“ Killing people because of their religion or ethnicity is a hate crime and heinous atrocity that can’t be allowed to continue.
“ To KACRAN, the life of everyone, whether Igbo, Hausa or Fulani, is sacred.
“ We therefore call on all herdsmen to remain calm and always contact constituted authorities for redress when ever their rights are trampled upon,” Bello said.
The President cautioned his members and other Nigerians against circulating the graphic video to whip up sentiments.
“ Members of the public must desist from circulating the graphic video because that is capable of inciting violent reprisals across the country.
“ KACRAN was established for peaceful co-existence between herdsmen and farmers. Therefore, we have not asked anyone to engage in violence or any illegal action our behalf.
“ If you love herdsmen, support us in advising governments to return all encroached cattle routes to us and ensure that all Appropriation Bills capture livestock development,” he said.
