Yobe Gov lauds Nigerian legion, donates N15m Naira for association
Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni has commended Nigerian Legion for their sacrifices to keep Nigeria one indivisible country.
The Governor made the remarks at the launching of the 2022 Emblem Appeal Week on Thursday Damaturu.
Governor Buni announced the donation of N15 million on behalf of the state government and his personal donation of N1 Million to the State chapter of the legion in commemoration of the week.
He also acknowledged that security Agencies performed gallantly well with an indelible record in the annals of history of Nigeria.
The governor specifically mentioned the supreme sacrifice by members of the Armed Forces during the first and second world wars as well as Nigeria’s civil war and other conflict Zones in the country.
He made it clear that the nation would continue to hold them in high esteem and honour for their patriotism, nationalism and sacrifice.
Buni emphasized the importance of mobilising more resources to security agencies towards meeting the challenges of modern combat operation.
Be assured that his administration would continue to support the security agencies in the state.
He also appreciated the effort of other other security agencies like Vigilantees and Volunteer groups in the state for keeping Yobe relatively peaceful.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Head of Service, Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries also announced personal and collective support for the Emblem Appeal Week.
Earlier, the state Chairman of Nigerian Legionnaires commended Governor Buni for the support and concern shown to the welfare of their members eversince he assumed Yobe state governor.
