COAS charges troops to neutralise all terrorists, capture their equipments
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, has charged troops of Sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai, to remain focus in neutralising all terrorist elements and capture their equipment in the North East.
Yahaya, represented by Ma.j-Gen. Koko Isoni gave the charge during Sallah Luncheon with troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) in Damaturu on Wednesday in Damaturu.
Yahaya enjoined the troops to continue to defend the territorial integrity of the country.
He said Eid-el-fitr held a special place in individuals and collectively as an Army, saying the occasion reminded troops of the significance of loyalty, obedience and sacrifice.
Yahaya added that it also provided a unique opportunity for troops to reflect and readjust efforts towards justifying the confidence reposed in them by Nigerians.
The COAS expressed appreciation for the immense sacrifice of troops in OPHK and other ongoing operations across the country.
He made special tributes to colleagues who had paid the supreme price in the defence of their fatherland.
Yahaya noted that the Army under his watch would continue to provide for the welfare and comfort of their families.
