Educate your subjects on importance of using ITN – Gov Buni tasks community leaders
Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has called on Community Leaders and local government Chairmen to educate people on the need to sleep under Insecticidal Treated mosquito Nets (ITNs).
Buni, represented by his deputy, Alhaji Idi Gubana made the call while addressing stakeholders on the fight against malaria on Wednesday in Damaturu.
He described the distribution of the insecticide treated nets as timely and a move in the right direction.
The Governor said the state government would not relent in it’s effort to make Yobe free from maleria.
He Commended the maleria consortium for distrusting over 2 million mosquito nets free to the people of the state.
Also speaking, Alhaji Bala Mohammed an official of the Federal Ministry of Health commended the role played by the state government and traditional rulers in promoting health care activities in the state.
Earlier at the occasion, the Yobe state Commissioner of health Dr. Mohammed Gana said the distribution of the net was timely and it had complemented the state government’s effort to fight maleria.
