NSCDC sensitises Yobe youth against political thuggery
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Wednesday sensitised Yobe youth against political thuggery in the state.
Mr Sa’idu Aliyu, the NSCDC State Commandant made call in statement signed by ASCI Bala Garba, the PRO of the Command in commemoration of World Peace Day 2022.
He said the activities of the insurgency had already caused set back on socio economic development in the North East, particularly Yobe.
“On this note, the command deemed it necessary to caution youths on the adverse effects of electoral violence.
“And relative importance of peaceful coexistence in the state, especially now that we are heading toward electioneering campagn period.”, Aliyu said.
He said the command had visited motor parks, recreation centers among other places to enlighten the youth in the state.
He also noted leadership of the NSCDC in collaboration with the United Nation (UN) organised to celebrate the World Peace Day with the theme: ‘End Racism, Build Peace’ h
The the World Peace Day is celebrated annually on September 21 to devote and strengthening the ideals of peace.
