Yobe senator distributes N50,000 each to 2,570 constituents

Senator Ibrahim Bomai, representing Yobe South Senatorial has empowered 2,570 constituents with N50,000 each.

The Senator made this known at the inauguration of the empowerment programme on Monday in Damagum, Fune local government area of the state.

Bomai represented by Alhaji Idi Jigujigu, the Assistant Legal Adviser All Progressive Congress (APC) said 560 out of 2,570 beneficiaries would receive the cash grant as first set of the empowerment.

The beneficiaries according to him cut across women, youth, old-age and grassroot politicians.

The senator advised the beneficiaries to utilise the money by reinvesting same into local, profitable businesses.
He added that more support would soon be made available for the people of the constituency.

Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad, the Secretary Bomai Support Group said the lawmaker’s decision was informed by the economic hardship bedevilling the state and the country.

Earlier in his remarks, Alhaji Mustapha Bade, the Chairman Fune local government area, commanded the gesture of the lawmaker.

Bade, however, enjoined the senator to provide more support considering the vast population of Fune local government.

Hajiya Talatu Saleh, one of the beneficiaries, thanked the lawmaker for the support.

She also called on the other beneficiaries to commit the money into business rather than diverting the funds.
