Buni commissions two health service agencies in Yobe

Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, on Saturday commissioned the state Emergency Medical Ambulance Service and the Healthcare Standard and Quality Regulation Agency to enhance emergency medical service delivery and promote technical excellence in healthcare service through effective supervision in the healthhasis on total professionalism in healthcare service delivery across the state.

Speaking during the occasion. the governor stated the establishment of the two agencies underscores his government strong commitment to citizen-centered health sector reforms that would provide improved healthcare access, functionality, and standardization toward achieving effective and efficient healthcare delivery in the state in conformity with the National Health Act 2014.

He pointed out that the Emergency Medical Ambulance Service Agency will support the provision of Emergency
Medical Treatment to all residents of Yobe State.

The policy, he said, is also intended to address the missing link in the health sector and, as reiterated by the World Health Organization, the importance of pre-hospital and emergency care systems for all member countries that will address the emergency needs of the population.

The Healthcare Standard and Quality Regulation Agency will provide a legal framework for the continuous inspection, monitoring and regulations of both private and public Health-related facilities in
Yobe State.

This, he said, would ensure the provision of safe, standard, and high-quality Healthcare and Health-related services to our citizens.

He also appreciated the ultramodern office building, equipment, and human resource plan put in place for the speedy takeoff of the new agencies.

He has equally mandated the state ministry of health to work out a clear
guidance and ensure a smooth takeoff of the agencies in line with the
administration’s continuous policy to strengthen and consolidate on all the gains in the health sector.

He expressed confidence that this policy initiative by his administration will have a significant impact on the wellbeing
of the people.

He commended the Federal Ministry of Health, and development partners for their continuous support and partnership with the Yobe State Government to actualize the establishment of the two important
agencies and other laudable interventions to the state.

“I am convinced that the two agencies will contribute greatly to transforming the Yobe State healthcare delivery landscape,” the governor said.
