LG poll: Yobe electoral body seeks security, media support

Damaturu, May 30, 2024 (NAN) The Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YSIEC) has called for collaboration with security agencies and the media to facilitate successful conduct of the local government election.
The Chairman of the commission, Dr Mamman Mohammed, stated this at a security meeting on Thursday in Damaturu.
Mohammed emphasised the importance of considering the security situation in the state before conducting the election.
According to him, a secure environment is crucial for a safe and peaceful election where all stakeholders can participate without fear.
While urging security agencies to provide valuable advice and support to ensure a hitch free exercise, Mohammed reitrated commitment to free and fair election in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Commision has fixed June 8, for conduct of the the local council election in the state. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
