Yobe Works Ministry Highlights 2024 Achievements

The Yobe State Ministry of Works, under the leadership of Commissioner Engr. Umar Wakil Duddaye, has highlighted its significant achievements in infrastructural development and other services as the year 2024 draws to a close.

The ministry, in a statement issued on Monday in Damaturu, said the administration of Gov. Mai Mala Buni had demonstrated exceptional commitment to the state’s growth, earning widespread acclaim from its citizens.

The statement listed completed projects, to include Jajimaji-Karasuwa Road at N2,025,349,864.95, and the Chumbusko-Tagali Road at N3,372,110,570.75.

Other completed projects include roads and drainage systems in Damagum and Potiskum towns, rehabilitation of Biriri-Babbangida and Katarko-Goniri roads, repairs on Buni Yadi-Buni Gari road, and construction of Kayayya bridge and its approaches.

The ministry is currently working on several key projects, including the 25-kilometer Damaturu-Kalallawa Dual Carriageway at a cost of N1,519,787.27, the rehabilitation of Geidam-Bukarti Road, Kanamma Junction, and the construction of Nguru-Balanguwa Road, Gashua-Masaba Road, Fika-Maluri Road.

Other ongoing projects according to the statement include the construction of Damaturu City Gate, roads and drainage systems in Potiskum town, the Nguru-Karasuwa Road, and Kukuri-Chukuriwa Road.

The Commissioner commended Gov. Buni for his unwavering support, which he said had been instrumental to the ministry’s success in 2024.
