Bauchi correspondent’s mourn demise of colleague, Hafsat Adebayo

The Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Bauchi State Council, has expressed profound sadness over the passing of Hafsat Adebayo, a member of the chapel and Daily Post correspondent in Bauchi State.

Adebayo died on Monday morning after battling a prolonged brain tumor and was buried at 11 am the same day in accordance with Islamic rites.

Mal. Ahmed Mohammed, Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, described Adebayo as a brilliant writer who touched the lives of countless people.

“Hafsat was a dedicated colleague, a passionate mother, and a brilliant reporter who touched the lives of countless people. Her wisdom, guidance, and unwavering commitment to excellence will be deeply missed,” he said.

The Chairman of the NUJ, Bauchi State Council, Mal. Umar Saidu, also expressed shock over the incident, saying “Very sad news, but God’s decision is the best, may her soul rest in peace.”

Tributes have poured in from colleagues, friends, and loved ones, describing Adebayo as a hardworking, intelligent, and peace-loving journalist who will be greatly missed.

Her former colleagues recounted their encounters and moments shared with her in the media profession for over a decade and a half.
