The governor, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Idi Gubana, made the appeal shortly after the Eid-el-Fitr prayer marking the end of Ramadan fasting on Sunday in Damaturu.

Buni, who is currently in Saudi Arabia performing Humrah (lesser Hajj), extended his Sallah greetings to the people of Yobe and beyond.

He urged Muslims to remain prayerful, obedient, and steadfast in their faith.

The governor prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and to grant Jannatul Firdaus to deceased faithful.

He further emphasised the importance of tolerance, patience, and unity among citizens, regardless of religious, ethnic, or other differences.

Buni also encouraged the people to remain self-reliant and hardworking, stressing that these virtues are key to personal and societal development.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Eid prayer, held at Islamic Center, Damaturu was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and thousands of Muslim faithful who offered supplications for peace and prosperity in the state and the nation at large.
