
Neptune Network to train CSOs on citizen journalism, advocacy
Neptune Network Nigeria Limited (NNNL) Publishers of Neptune Prime, in collaboration with the Yobe First Movement is to hold a training on citizen reporting and Social Media Dissemination in Potiskum on Wednesday.
Malam Hassan Gimba,the Publisher disclosed this on Tuesday in Damaturu.
He said the initiative was to strengthen the capacity of civil society organisations (CSOs) in citizen journalism and strategic social media advocacy.
According to him, the training will equip participants with the skills to document and share real-time developments, policy gaps, and governance issues effectively.
He added that the event would feature hands-on sessions for 20 CSO representatives from Potiskum, Fika, Fune, and Nangere Local Government Areas (LGAs).
Gimba further said that the Potiskum engagement would serve as a model for subsequent trainings across the state.
He listed the resources persons to include Dr. Ahmed Bedu, a communications expert, Dr. Saleh Mari Maina, from University of Abuja; Malam Abubakar Ahmed, a retired NAN deputy director and Dr. Furera Bagel, of the Bauchi State University.
