Bauchi APC Chieftain Commends Tinubu on Free Education Policy, Kolmani Oil Project Revival
By Ahmed Ahmed
BAUCHI – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State and Vice Chairman of the party in Bauchi South Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kundak, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his recent initiatives in the education and energy sectors.
Kundak gave the commendation in an interview with journalists on Wednesday in Bauchi, where he spoke on behalf of the APC and the general public in the state. He described the initiatives as transformative and particularly beneficial to Northern Nigeria.
He hailed the President’s approval of free education for students in 33 Federal Science and Technical Colleges (FSTCs) nationwide, scheduled to commence in August 2025.
According to him, the programme—part of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) scheme—offers free tuition, monthly stipends, meals, accommodation, internationally recognised certifications, and post-graduation support.
“This initiative is highly commendable. It reflects a deliberate and strategic effort to equip young Nigerians with practical, industry-relevant skills, while also eliminating financial barriers to education,” Kundak said.
“We view this as a long-overdue investment in the future of our country,” he added.
The APC leader also praised President Tinubu for authorising the issuance of all critical licences required to advance the Kolmani Integrated Development Project—a multi-billion-dollar oil exploration initiative located between Bauchi and Gombe States.
“Mr President is intentional about transforming Nigeria’s energy sector into a catalyst for industrial growth, employment generation, and increased national revenue,” he stated.
Kundak cited a recent statement by Mr Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), who announced the resumption of drilling activities in Kolmani and other key sites, signalling a renewed phase of energy development in the region.
“These projects will enable the reopening of previously shut-down industries, create new economic opportunities, and enhance regional prosperity. Therefore, we must return and continue this vital undertaking,” Ojulari was quoted as saying.
Kundak expressed optimism that the administration’s efforts in education and energy would serve as catalysts for national development, significantly reduce unemployment, and place Nigeria on a more robust economic path.
