Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has charged intending Christian pilgrims from the state to Jerusalem in Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan to uphold high moral standards and conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of Bauchi State and Nigeria.

The governor gave the charge on Sunday in Bauchi during the farewell ceremony for the 2025 state-sponsored Christian pilgrims. He was represented at the event by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Auwal Jatau.

Mohammed cautioned the pilgrims to avoid violence and steer clear of conflict-prone areas while in the Holy Land, stressing the need for discipline, patience, and respect for the laws and customs of the host countries.

He noted that the state government sponsored a total of 356 pilgrims for the 2025 pilgrimage and urged them to project the good image of Bauchi State, Nigeria, and the Christian faith.

He further appealed to the pilgrims to use the spiritual opportunity to pray fervently for peace, unity, and progress in Bauchi State and the country at large. The governor wished them a safe journey and a successful pilgrimage.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs and Social Orientation, Mr. Mohammed Abdulkadir, described the pilgrimage as a divine calling and advised the pilgrims to maintain exemplary conduct throughout their stay in Israel and Jordan.

He also encouraged them to pray for sustained peace and tranquility in Nigeria.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB), Mr. Ibrahim Gwallang, expressed gratitude to Gov Mohammed for his consistent support, fairness, and inclusive leadership, particularly in sponsoring Christian pilgrims annually.

He praised the governor for promoting justice and equity among adherents of different faiths in the state.

Gwallang disclosed that all necessary arrangements for the pilgrimage had been concluded, including feeding, accommodation, transportation, and welfare.

He added that the pilgrims were scheduled to depart from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday, December 29, 2025.

The Executive Secretary assured the governor that the pilgrims would pray for continued peace, development, and good governance in Bauchi State and Nigeria.
