Concerned youths in Gulani Local Government Area (LGA) have endorsed Mohammed Maina for the Yobe State House of Assembly seat.
The endorsement was announced at a news conference addressed by the group in Gulani, calling for support from stakeholders and the electorate.
The group said the decision followed a consultative process involving youth representatives from the 12 political wards in the LGA.
It stated that the endorsement aligned with efforts to promote youth inclusion in governance and sustain political development in the area.
According to the group, the state government’s policy direction on youth empowerment has encouraged broader participation of young people in leadership.
The youths noted that Gulani had remained a strong support base of the All Progressives Congress (APC), largely driven by active youth participation.
They added that their collective action reflected unity of purpose and commitment to sustaining the political strength of the area.
The group disclosed that a town hall meeting held on April 11 mobilised youth groups across the wards to deliberate on the endorsement.
It said a total of N3 million was raised during the meeting to support mobilisation efforts toward the candidacy.
The youths described Maina as a credible and accessible figure with experience in community and humanitarian service.
They said he possessed the capacity to represent the interests of Gulani constituents effectively at the state legislature.
The group appealed to Gov. Mai Mala Buni to support the candidature, citing the need to consolidate youth representation in governance.
It also urged stakeholders, including residents and indigenes in the diaspora, to support the aspiration.
The youths emphasised that collective support would enhance effective representation and development outcomes in the LGA.
They expressed confidence that the endorsement would translate into electoral success for the candidate.
