Stakeholders of the Kashim Musa Tumsah (KMT) political movement in Yobe have condemned alleged intimidation, discrimination and harassment of their supporters and their spouses across workplaces, businesses and civil service opportunities.

The stakeholders made their position known in a communiqué issued at the end of their meeting in Damaturu on Thursday.

They called on the Yobe State Government and supporters of BMW to desist from actions capable of further dividing and destabilising the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The group said it had chosen restraint despite its capacity to defend its political and economic interests, urging the APC leadership to urgently address what it described as provocations.

The stakeholders also reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty and commitment to their principal, Kashim Musa Tumsah, MFR.

They said the movement was currently engaged in high-level discussions and negotiations with the APC and other major political parties to determine its political direction.

According to the communiqué signed by Lawan M. Ibrahim, Director-General, Yobe First Movement, the stakeholders urged the KMT leadership to conclude the ongoing negotiations before the end of August.

They pledged their support for any decision reached by the leadership in the best interest of the movement and Yobe State.

The stakeholders further assured that members and supporters would be adequately briefed and carried along after the conclusion of the negotiations.

They said the grassroots remained central to the KMT project and would be actively involved in the process.

The forum also resolved to operate with “one voice and one mission” towards promoting the growth and development of Yobe State.

It urged members to remain patient and disciplined and await official directives, warning against premature individual or group actions that could undermine the collective interest.

The stakeholders said they would reconvene before the end of August to review political developments and, in consultation with the KMT leadership, finalise the way forward.
