Yobe Govt, Qatar Foundation offer scholarship 61 orphans
Yobe State Government in collaboration with Qatar Foundation offered sponsorship to over 61 vulnerable orphans from primary to tatiary level of education.
Gov Mai Mala Buni of Yobe disclosed this during inauguration of Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards given to the beneficiary orphans on Sunday in Damaturu.
Governor Buni also supported each orphans with N50,000, food and non food items.
Buni also explained that Qatar Foundation was in the state to assist the most vulnerable persons.
Earlier in his remarks, the representative of Qatar charity foundation, Malam Shuaibu said Yobe had been one of the state that benefited from Qatar foundation and would continue to do so.
Speaking at occasion, Malam Babagana Kyari, the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs to Governor Buni said the 61 orphans were created with N117,000 each by the foundation.
He added that the a foundation also constructed over 132 boreholes, 32 mosque across the 17 local government areas in the state.
Kyari commended Qatar Foundation and Yobe state government for their support and cooperation.
