
Maryam Shettima emerges Acting Director of NOA Yobe

Hajiya Maryam Shettima has emerged as the new Acting Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Yobe State Directorate, following the retirement of Alhaji Muhammad Tikau.
The formal handing-over ceremony took place on Tuesday at the NOA State Directorate office in Damaturu, with the Zonal Director of the Northeast, Alhaji Ali Audu, in attendance.
Shettima, the most senior officer of the Directorate, assumed leadership in line with the tradition of the Agency, as Tikau stepped down after years of service.
Audu commended Tikau for his contributions and wished him well in his future endeavours.
He also congratulated Shettima, expressing confidence in her ability to lead the Directorate effectively.
In his remarks, Tikau expressed gratitude to Allah for His blessings and appreciated the support of staff during his tenure.
He urged them to accord full cooperation to the new Acting Director in line with civil service rules.
Before her appointment, Shettima held several key positions, including Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officer (COMO) in Damaturu, Head of Programmes Department, and Head of the Community Outreach and Development Department.
Staff of the Agency in Yobe expressed support for her appointment and pledged to assist her in delivering the Agency’s mandate.
