The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Damaturu Branch, has expressed satisfaction with the level of work on the ongoing Mega Motor Park project in Damaturu, Yobe State, which is nearing completion.
Engr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Chairman of the branch, stated this on Tuesday during a routine inspection visit to various project sites in the state capital.
He said the visits, conducted every four to six months, were aimed at ensuring quality delivery of government projects for the benefit of citizens.
“Our routine inspections enable us to assess the quality of work done, offer professional advice, and encourage adherence to engineering standards to achieve value for money,” Abdullahi said.
He commended the Yobe Government for its commitment to infrastructural development, noting that projects such as the flyover and the Mega Motor Park would improve transportation, ease movement, and enhance the beauty of the town.
Also speaking, Engr. Muhammad Hassan, General Project Coordinator of the Mega Motor Park, said the construction work had reached an advanced stage and would be completed by January 2025.
Hassan explained that the facility comprised two shopping complexes, each containing 10 shops, as well as separate male and female public toilets, a police post, a fire service station, and other essential amenities.
He assured that upon completion, the park would provide a modern and convenient transport hub for commuters and business operators in the state.
