Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to educational advancement, describing academic excellence as a critical driver of human capital development.
Buni spoke while receiving Surayya Muhammad Kabir, a first-class graduate of Physics from Yobe State University, who was offered automatic employment by the state government.
Presenting her letter of appointment in Damaturu, Kabir expressed appreciation to the governor, describing the gesture as an honour to her and her family.
She said the appointment would further motivate her to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state and inspire other students to pursue academic excellence.
The governor congratulated Kabir, describing her as a role model and an ambassador of girl-child education in the state.
He said her achievement demonstrated the positive impact of sustained investment in education, particularly in encouraging girls to attain higher academic standards.
Buni assured that his administration would continue to prioritise education development and expand access to learning opportunities across the state.
He said no child in Yobe would be denied education on the basis of economic background, as government remained committed to inclusive and equitable education.
