PDP Clinches All Seats in Bauchi By-Elections Across Shira, Zaki Wards

Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have emerged victorious in the recently concluded by-elections conducted by the Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) in Shira and Zaki Local Government Areas of the state.
The by-elections were held in Tumfafi and Zubo Wards of Shira Local Government Area and Mainako ‘A’ Ward of Zaki Local Government Area, following vacancies created by the death of former councillors.
Speaking at a news conference on Thursday in Bauchi, the BASIEC Chairperson, Hajiya Jummai Abubakar, confirmed that the PDP candidates won all the contested seats.
According to the Commission, Babangida Ibrahim clinched victory in Tumfafi Ward, Jamilu Muhammad emerged winner in Zubo Ward, while Adamu Bulama won the election in Mainako ‘A’ Ward.
Hajiya Abubakar said the candidates were duly returned as elected councillors after satisfying all constitutional, legal, and electoral requirements.
She explained that the elections were conducted peacefully and transparently, in strict compliance with the provisions of the Bauchi State Electoral Law.
She noted that the process reflected the confidence of voters in the PDP and the credibility of the electoral process at the grassroots level.
The BASIEC chairperson commended the peaceful conduct of voters and the cooperation of political parties, security agencies, and election officials, which contributed to the successful outcome of the polls.
Hajiya Abubakar also used the opportunity to encourage eligible citizens, especially those without Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) or who are yet to collect theirs,
to participate in the second phase of the nationwide PVC registration and collection exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
She assured the public of BASIEC’s continued commitment to conducting credible and transparent elections in Bauchi State.
