The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has formally pledged its complete obedience and readiness for self-sacrifice to Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, vowing to uphold the tenets of the Islamic Revolution under his guidance.

Our Correspondent reports that the Assembly of Experts officially named Mojtaba Khamenei as the third Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Sunday, succeeding his father, the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In a statement released shortly after the appointment, the Assembly declared, “Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei is appointed and introduced as the third leader of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

In a swift show of solidarity and consolidation, the IRGC issued its own communique confirming its allegiance.

The powerful military and political force stated its commitment to “complete obedience and self-sacrifice” to the new Ayatollah, signalling a seamless transition of authority within the country’s security apparatus.

However, the succession has been shadowed by controversy regarding the new leader’s personal assets. According to international property records, Mojtaba Khamenei owns two luxury apartments in the upscale Kensington neighbourhood of West London, reportedly valued at a combined £50 million.

Security analysts have raised concerns over the location of the properties, noting that they overlook the Israeli embassy in the British capital.

Experts have flagged the holdings as a “serious security breach,” given the Islamic Republic’s longstanding opposition to Israel and the potential intelligence risks posed by the proximity of the leader’s assets to a foreign diplomatic mission.

Despite the international scrutiny, the IRGC’s immediate and unequivocal pledge of loyalty underscores the regime’s internal unity as Mojtaba Khamenei assumes the mantle of leadership in Tehran.
