Iran Deploys Military Decoys to Mislead Israel, Reports Suggest

Iran has reportedly expanded the use of military decoys, including inflatable tanks and missile launchers, to mislead surveillance and airstrikes from Israel.

Security reports indicate that the decoys are designed to resemble real military equipment and are positioned to attract enemy fire away from actual strategic assets.

The tactic, commonly used in warfare for decades, involves creating false targets to confuse surveillance systems and reduce damage to operational equipment.

Analysts say the strategy could force adversaries to expend costly precision-guided missiles on inexpensive decoys deployed across potential strike zones.

Some reports suggest the decoys include inflatable tanks, fighter jets and missile launch systems that appear realistic when viewed from satellite imagery or drones.

According to defence analysts, the dummy equipment can mimic the shape and size of real weapons platforms, making it difficult for attackers to distinguish them from genuine targets.

Reports also indicate that some of the decoy equipment may have been sourced from manufacturers in China.

Military experts say the tactic could complicate targeting decisions by increasing uncertainty during reconnaissance and strike planning.

They note that if attackers cannot easily verify targets, they risk wasting expensive precision missiles on fake equipment while real assets remain protected.

The development comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where both sides continue to adopt new tactics to gain strategic advantage.

Observers say widespread deployment of decoys could increase operational costs for attackers while extending the survivability of critical military infrastructure.
